Hailing from Central Alberta, Tlouey is a dedicated artist and writer with 20 years of experience creating everything from book covers and children's illustrations to album art and band posters. Tlouey works predominantly with physical media using watercolours and Pitt artist pens. Tlouey might be best known for illustrating brightly coloured unicorns, more specifically, zebra unicorns.

Why Zebricorns?
Growing up different in a small, rural community can feel like being a zebra among horses; no matter what you do, you stick out. The unicorn aspect is symbolic of queerness and magic. It is a reflection of identity, resilience, imagination and nature.
The purple Zebracorn series began as a healing celebration of the beauty and magic of being different. Early pieces featured vibrant, beautiful zebracorns surrounded by crystals and flowers. As society's perceptions of those who are different have shifted over the past years, so have the pieces. The zebracorns have become strange.
Perspectives have warped. Forms have distorted. The later works grow stranger, less predictable... some even devastating. Yet, they remain beautiful and rooted in magic.
